Large Scale Experiments Data Analysis for Estimation of Hydrodynamic Force Coefficients
This paper describes the various frequency domain methods which may be used to analyze experiments data on the force experienced by a circular cylinder in wave and current to estimate drag and inertia coefficients for use in Morison’s equation. An additional approach, system identification techniques (SIT) is also introduced. A set of data obtained from experiments on heavily roughened circular...
متن کاملLarge Scale Experiments Data Analysis for Estimation of Hydrodynamic Force Coefficients Part 1: Time Domain Analysis
This paper describes various time-domain methods useful for analyzing the experimental data obtained from a circular cylinder force in terms of both wave and current for estimation of the drag and inertia coefficients applicable to the Morison’s equation. An additional approach, weighted least squares method is also introduced. A set of data obtained from experiments on heavily roughened circul...
متن کاملLifeSKIM: Application for Large Scale Biomedical Semantic Annotations
Data integration and interpretation is a very challenging problem for the fundamental biomedical research and drug development industry. There is an emerging need for the development of new tools and applications which to transparently link the unstructured and semi-structured information to the biological database. LifeSKIM 0.1 is flexible and scalable application for semantic annotations gene...
متن کاملIdentifying Reliable Annotations for Large Scale Image Segmentation
Challenging computer vision tasks, in particular semantic image segmentation, require large training sets of annotated images. While obtaining the actual images is often unproblematic, creating the necessary annotation is a tedious and costly process. Therefore, one often has to work with unreliable annotation sources, such as Amazon Mechanical Turk or (semi-)automatic algorithmic techniques. I...
متن کاملLarge Scale Matching for Position Weight Matrices
This paper addresses the problem of multiple pattern matching for motifs encoded by Position Weight Matrices. We first present an algorithm that uses a multi-index table to preprocess the set of motifs, allowing a dramatically decrease of computation time. We then show how to take benefit from simlar motifs to prevent useless computations.
